Charlotte in Black & White

I’ve been shooting pictures for over 30 years. I’ve done some freelance jazz photography and I’ve been a police photographer in an organized crime bureau. What excites me is capturing things as they happen. Things mundane. Things comical. Things dramatic. Things whinsome. Things tender. Things romantic. Things beautiful. Things playful. Things innocent. Things. Just things. There is no better place to find all of that than on the street. So recently, I discovered “Street Photography.” Famed NYC based street photographer Jonathan Higbee said, “Street photography is photography that tells a story about life in public shared spaces.” The photos in this gallery hopefully tell a story about life in public shared spaces on the streets of Charlotte, NC.
